Network Convergence Platform™ Selected by Cloud Connect to Expand Network Access and Deliver Ubiquitous Connectivity to Mobile Customers

Wi-Fi NOW Conference Attendees See Results of Truly Gapless Handover of Calls Between Cellular and Wi-Fi

London, United Kingdom (October 25, 2016) – Carnegie Technologies announced today that Cloud Connect, a leading provider of hosted Wi-Fi and VoIP services in the Netherlands, has selected and deployed Carnegie’s Network Convergence Platform™ to deliver ubiquitous mobile connectivity to end users - everywhere, all the time.  A demonstration of the solution will be on display at the Wi-Fi NOW Expo beginning today in London at booth # 25.

The Carnegie Technologies Network Convergence Platform is the first to offer truly ubiquitous, always-on connectivity between Wi-Fi and cellular networks, for voice and video with no gaps and no dropped sessions. The policy-driven platform uses True Gapless Handover™ to expand the pool of capacity for mobile network operators, improving coverage directly inside homes, businesses, public places, etc. and allowing customers the freedom and flexibility to move about without degradation of service.   In addition to traditional messaging, it allows for rich data-based messaging using Hi-Fi Voice™ and Rich Messagingapplications all branded to the carrier.

“Seamless integration of fixed and mobile telephony is a requirement in our key markets of retail, hospitality, and medical practitioners and institutions, and the Network Convergence Platform has allowed us to deliver that always-on connectivity that our customers need and want,” said Peter Van Der Salm, CEO of Cloud Connect.  “We have a long history of co-operation with various providers of fixed-mobile integration solutions (FMC), and have now joined forces with Carnegie Technologies as we feel this is the most advanced FMC solution available today.”

Carnegie Technologies’ Head of Software Development Nicholas Armstrong will be speaking on the Wi-Fi NOW panel “Carrier Wi-Fi debate: convergence, cities & enterprise” discussing the role for carriers in the emerging smart city market, how Wi-Fi will be used, the outlook for mobile and Wi-Fi convergence, and more.  The panel takes place on Thursday, October 27th at 11am BST and also includes representatives from KPNSky and Boingo Wireless.

“We’ve cracked the code for delivering a truly seamless handover of voice and data between cellular and Wi-Fi, and the Wi-Fi NOW conference is a perfect vehicle to debut our Network Convergence Platform deployment with Cloud Connect to the industry,” said Kurt Bauer, Managing Director of Global Sales and Business Development of Carnegie Technologies.  “With current deployments in Europe, the United States, Canada and Asia, for the first time ever operators of any size are remaining competitive by expanding their networks and delivering on that promise of always-on mobile connectivity.”
